Just like that — 3 is Over.
December 30th, 2006It began just three little months ago — when *I*, the last of the royals took my turn at turning “3.” However, when the clock flipped over to midnight o’one, Prince has now ruined it. Yup — can you guess? Today, Prince turned 34. Seriously, I don’t think he was as thrilled to be a part of the “all of us are three” thing as me. But alas, he has gotten his wish — he is no longer 3.
So, in honor of his birthday, I shall share 5 things about the Prince that is sure to make his eyes roll.
- Prince has a wicked sense of humor. If by wicked you mean he constantly cracks himself up and on occasions makes me giggle. In reality, he can be rather funny, but has yet to get that while I find him amusing, I don’t NEED to laugh out loud (or snort).
- Prince believes there is a food group called “snack/junk food.” This is a common sentence in our house, “When you go to the store, pick me up something to snack on.” Um, sure — I’d love to, can you narrow that down a little (as I’m not currently capable of addressing what your body would like to snack on for this coming week). There is NEVER a real answer to this question — frustrating is an understatement.
- Prince LOVES his sleep. He plans for it, making sure he can get to bed early enough to get a full night’s sleep before he MUST wake. I honestly believe that given his choice, he’d get about 11 hours of sleep per night (from 10pm to 9am). While he tries to deny it, I believe that he can will himself to sleep — mostly because for him to have a restless night is rare.
- I have never seen Prince in a sweater. Seriously, what do I do in my spare time? knit, right? And yet the person in this world would could benefit most has never been spotted in a knitted item. (he doesn’t wear mittens, knitted caps (perferring polar fleece), or scarves, either.)
- And finally, our Prince is sensitive about his age. He no longer wishes me to talk about it, ask him how his day is going or oh — me constantly mentioning how he’s older. So, think this will annoy him? I know it is showing off *MY* sensitive side.
Speaking of sensitive, yesterday Prince, Duke, and I went to the bowling alley for an evening. The scoring machines were down and thus bowling was FREE (Prince loves him the free bowling). We bowled, as usual for a bit. And then suddenly, I got the WORST headache (the dig your eyeball out with a spoon to relieve the pressure kind — and hello, I drank my normal amounts of coffee). I told Prince “I’m done. I just hurt.” He looked at me with puppy-dog eyes (seriously, puppy eyes???). I offered to try to get some water and take some pills. As I walk away I hear, “Hey, can you get me a coke while you are there?” Ok, I come back with drinks and sit down. I’m attempting to push my eye back into its socket, when Prince FINALLY gets the hint and says “2 more frames and we will go.” He stretched 2 frames into 4 and freely admitted stalling. We get home and I start to give him a hard time about caring more about the game than my massive headache. He says, “But, BUT, it was FREE bowling.” Now I know where I rate.
