Today’s Entry from Duke

I’m sick.  Horribly, icky sick.  I need to stay in bed and live on nothing but Nyquil all weekend — the doctor said so.  So in the tradition of Family Circus, when Billy fills in for his dad, I bring you Duke’s entry for the day.

Mama (on the way home from school yesterday): What did you do all day at school today?

Me: I went to New Preschool room. I ate breakfast ‘n new room. I ate lunch ‘n new room. I took nap ‘n new room. I closed eyes; I opened eyes; I ate snack.

Mama: Um, that’s nice.  Did you do anything other than eat and sleep?

Me: Yes.

(later)

Me: I baked cake today.

Mama: Really, what kind?

Me: Blue with hot pink sprinkles.

(still later)

Me: Mama, bake me a cake.

Mama: Um, not tonight sweetie, I think I’m going to take some medicine and go to bed when you go to bed.

Me: Ok, Mama, I need to feel better.

    Feel better soon…Mucinex is the wonder drug with the hideous name.
