We seem to be missing something…

Monday, March 12th, 2007

Ok, I wrote a LONG post about my knitting theory, but when I went to post, it appeared twice.  Thinking I was ALL cool, I thought I could fix it and I ended up deleting the post.  I do not have it in me to reproduce the “I’m a total and complete geek” post proof.  Sorry.  So, if you are or know someone who is a complete math wiz, perhaps someone with a working knowledge of the helix, kindly point them my general direction.

Moving right along. (more…)

Vacuuming killed the Radio Star

Tuesday, March 6th, 2007

Yesterday, while I was working on some stuff for SeaSocks, I made a call to a friend, Amie, and got her to answer all my pressing questions. Now, Amie is great to talk to on the phone and it was no wonder that she told me she was once voted the favorite radio personality in her market — back in her other life before she chucked the glamous radio life for knitting.

She told me of this awesome story where she had gotten this amazing vote of confidence from her fans and went to station management to ask for a cost of living increase (not a huge bonus — just a little bump for cost of living) and was promptly turned down because “you don’t vacuum enough.” HELLO?? She wasn’t the maid, she was an on air personality and good at it.

I tell you her story to relate my own. (more…)

Three B’s: Boise, Bowling, and Birthday

Monday, March 5th, 2007

(Sidenote: For all those desiring a photo of the Boise shawl (which yes, was left off the list) will have to wait. You see, as I was digging through the WIPs, I COULD.NOT.FIND. it. Yes, it is freaking me out, but right now I’m left with three options:

  • Someone has broken into my house and stole my unfinished shawl.
  • I have packed it up in an “I will always know where this is” location and promptly forgot.
  • I have lost it — but frankly this is so far fetched I can not imagine this is truly the case.

I did find two balls of the yarn, so I was able to rule out that I had imagined the whole shawl.) (more…)

In which I’m forced to admit…

(Warning: This post is MOSTLY about knitting. I make this warning because a few of you, db, have mentioned that if I talk knitting you skip the post — so it has been awhile and thus the wool must be revealed again, can you deal?)

I went to Knit Night last night. Oh, how I LOVE the knit night!! First, there are the people or audience as I like to think of them. No, seriously, while I fully admit to being totally shy when meeting new people, put wool in my hands and put me amoungst the Knitters and I cannot stop with the talking. It feeds my inner extrovert so well and it is good for me. Secondly, there is the WOOL — I’m serious, I need no drugs in my life if I can just have lots and lots of FIBER — good, quality, natural fiber. (more…)
