Finding Joy in Snarkville

So I guess I ought to do this one.  I was tagged by both Mama E and Niki to share 7 random things about me.  I’ve thought about this one for awhile — since I can’t seem to get through 100 things about me on the About page, you think the 7 might be easier, but alas, the whole blog is random stuff about myself, so now I’m asked for 7 more things — ok, here it goes.

1. I like gummy candy more than chocolate.  Shocking I know, but I’m much more of a sugar addict than an chocolate one.  Given the choice, my hands down favorite are gum drops.  I also really love caramel, which Prince does not — not that it causes issues, since we don’t share well to begin with.

2. Once I feel in love with black and white musicals, to the point I’ve actually worn out a video tape of Yankee Doodle Dandy.  To this day, I’m still trying to figure out a certain Bing Crosby movie that I saw on TBS as a teen that I remember only a little bit of.

3.  I am constantly shocked by the things I don’t know.  (That sounded as weird in my head as it does in type.)  Here’s the thing.  I figure myself to be a fairly bright person.  I know stuff, odd  trivial type stuff, but it never ceases to amaze me that something that “everyone should know” is something I didn’t know.  I’d love to have an example, but right this second I’m at a loss — but it happens rather often.

4. Currently, I’m dealing with a Suduko addiction.  I need to finish puzzles throughout the day.  I’m convinced that this isn’t a bad addiction, as in theory I’m pushing off the onset of senility, right? right?  hang on, I need to count to 9.

5. I have a thing for ducks.  I have no idea where it comes from, but I melt for most ducks.  In addition to real ducks, which thrill me beyond belief, I also love the cheesy rubber ducks.  At one point, we had over 100 rubber ducks in our house.  While it was for a party, I still think this is totally normal – and pretty cool.

6.  I am only capable of sleeping when I have heavy covers on top of me.  It can be hot outside and I’ll still need the weight of a heavy blanket on top of me.  This has brought me to my new love affair with a down comforter, but also my severe dislike of Frankenhouse’s lack of AC.

7. About twice a year I go through this thing where I desire to pare down our life.  I want to simplfy but it never seems to work.  I tend to make a huge mess and throw out a few things, in the process I tend to stress out Prince.  Good times, right?
