Ok, to put everyone’s mind at ease, the MacBook Pro DOES NOT have a problem with Firefox (I don’t believe it fully, but Apple tells me that is in fact NOT my issue). My issue seems to be a problem (limited to the MacBook Pros) that the Airport card in my laptop and my router don’t like each other. This is now a “known” Apple issue with developers working on the solution (which for those keeping score at home, means I didn’t REALLY need to send back MacBook #1). However, today (before the developers can get around to FIXING this issue) I was given three little choices:

  1. Connect with a wire. — Um, doesn’t that defeat the advancements we’ve been making over the past few years. Doesn’t that destroy all that I hold dear to sit in my comfy chair and watch TV and surf? Um — don’t go trying to send me back to the desk…there is NO way. (Ok, also, I can’t be running a long wire around the house, but still).
  2. Buy an Airport Base Station. This problem does NOT occur with Apple products. Yes, I was given the line about third party items — but I fought back. Um, I told the guy, this is SO not Microsoft. I should not have to buy everything new just because they have a problem — a problem they swear to me is temporary and will be fixed soon.
  3. WAIT. Yes, the boy at Apple actually said “wait.” I asked how long, he hemmed and hawed. I took that to mean that I have a rather pricey brick in my lap.

Resolution? Um, Apple will be sending me a shiny new basestation (so that we can have two wireless networks in the house) at their expense. Yes, I’m much happier for now.

So, since I’m no longer dealing with *THAT* stress; I decided to put the power of the McBook Pro to work for something good. Those 25 minutes of the Harlot’s signing talk. You know you want to… (Fair warning, it is LONG — 25 minutes long.) And I’m not 100% if how I’m planning on getting this up here will work….so um — be gentle, ok?

For future reference, YouTube makes very quick work of video, making it super simple to post. Added bonus, it saves bandwidth.

And good news about the MBP! I hope the airport fixes it!

OK, this so makes me want to drive the 5.5 hours to see her in Virginia in September! Thanks for posting it – wish I could have been there.
