My father-in-law used to put the plug-ugliest Christmas ornaments on the tree, my husband says, including one disfigured jack o lantern one. For Christmas. My in-laws did ornament battles by putting ones they didn't like but the other did on the bottom of the tree, so that the Siamese cat, when it went crazy, would break them.
