Sunday, Random, Sunday

April 27th, 2008

Of all the things I feel I must share, not a single one of them is worthy of its own post.  So, you get the joys of yet another totally random post filled with the bits of our lives that amuse me.

  1. Duke has just completed his very first science experiment.  He thought it up all by himself and did the whole thing on his own.  He wanted to know if water in the fridge would turn into ice.  So, he took a container that he found somewhere in the house, filled bit with water and put it in the freezer.  He left them over night.  This morning, in the midst of his playing he goes running for the fridge.  He is SO excited that he made ice.  He is moving on to adding water to see if that makes ice too.  (I see the possibilities of homemade popsicles this week in our future.
  2. I finally upgraded my WordPress to the latest version.  Ok, so this is only weeks and weeks after it was released and I was waiting.  Literally, I upgraded it a few minutes ago only to log in and post to see that there is ANOTHER upgrade waiting.  Seriously, why can’t that be more automatic?
  3. We have a birthday party to go to this afternoon.  Does anyone think it is wrong that despite the child being registered at Lego, I bought him a water gun?
  4. Duke’s last day at pre-school is coming up.  I know I need to get something for his teachers, which I shall do — but I’m stumped for something awesome.  Ideas?  Also, his lead teacher is newly pregnant, but I don’t have any time to knit something, even a little something — ok, maybe time for booties, but I don’t have any green/yellow yarns (and they don’t what they are having yet.)
  5. We have a really busy week (ok, seriously month) coming up and I was outlining it to Duke to explain all the things that we would be doing.  I say, “You have lots to do this week.”  He says, “I need to check my calendar.”  Oh, yes, where do I find “Child’s First Palm Pilot”?

Happy Sunday, all.  It is time for me to start moving us to the birthday party.

  1. He’s growing up way too fast. Next week he’ll be working on his college applications, sniffle…

  2. People are now registering their children for birthday gifts! Oh God!

  3. So do you think he might seriously use a palm? I think I have one sitting in our technology graveyard. A palm IIIc. Somewhere. And it could easily have his name on it. Might be a good learning experience. Or it could easily become a nightmare.
