I’m an Addict.

Wednesday, September 27th, 2006

I know this will come as no shock to those closest to me, but I think it is time I publically admit my addiction.  Come to find out honesty is an important to addicts and thus I’m going to put this out there as just how serious my addiction has become.  (Not that I’m looking for a cure, mind you, just to admit how seriously little life I have.)

Random, totally random

Wednesday, September 20th, 2006

First, in case you were truly worried, Roberta has seemed to have lived.  We are all thankful that she’s made a full recovery and will be forever more teased with abandon about her “brush with death by fork.”  We assume her “tyne” had not come yet.  After all you know there is a “tyne” for every season. Yes, folks, I’ve got a million of them.

In which I cry…

Monday, September 18th, 2006

Now, I don’t really have to remind you that I can be a bit …um….emotional.  But today, I was caught off guard.

I’ve been fighting with a new computer program at work.  I’ve been cussing, asking questions, and trying to fix one little thing (that in reality has taken me two computers and 4 hours to get right).  I decide lunch is needed to continue.

Birthday Month isn’t over…

Monday, September 18th, 2006

…til it is over.

Yes, I know you all might be thinking that just because *THE* day has past that somehow from this point forward I will be focusing on other topics than Birthday Month.  Yet, I fear, I must inform you that I’m just not that deep.

Where were you?

Monday, September 11th, 2006

When I was growing up I often heard from my parents and their friends that “you will never forget where you were when JFK was killed.”  For my grandparents generation it was Pearl Harbor.  The list goes on and on.  It seems that for every generation on this planet there is a historical marker that you will never forget where you were when you heard.  At this point, for me it is September 11, 2001.

Why did the mouse cross the road?

Monday, September 4th, 2006

No, this is not the beginning of some truly dull joke. No, in fact, it is the beginning of the really sad story of the mouse.

Mr. Mouse (now, I’m only going to assume that Mouse is in fact a Mr and not a Mrs — as I want to think at that hour only Mr. Mouse would be out as Mrs. Mouse is home with all the little mouselettes) was wandering through the various farms of Snarkville. I’m betting that he was coming home from the local Mousey Pub. He was running late, the Mrs. is going to be ticked and he has to get up early to go to his mouse job tomorrow morning. He had ONE.LAST.ROAD. to cross. In his rush and drunken stupor, he didn’t stop and look both ways. No, Mr. Mouse scurried out and across the street. He got 3/4 of the way and finally the thought, “wow, I can see so well — where’s this light coming from?” entered his mind. Mr. Mouse stopped, he turned, he ran back to the halfway point ….

Day Three of Birthday Month

Sunday, September 3rd, 2006

Yes, birthday month has begun in force.  I love that my birthday month begins with a holiday weekend.  Mind you, I don’t get the idea of Labor Day.  I mean are you supposed to work, not work, or why isn’t it really called BBQ Day? But as the last federal holiday before my birthday, I’m always pleased to see this weekend come.

Wish Clarification

Saturday, September 2nd, 2006

Prince brought it to my attention that my wishes seemed odd, since in the past year I’ve travelled somewhere I’ve never been AND I’m already planning on going somewhere I’ve not been before in my 33rd year.  So, given that my husband didn’t understand my plan, I thought I should explain.

My 30 wishes are more of a ‘to do’ list for this coming year.  Some of these are things I’ve got in the works that I want to make sure I accomplish.  Some of them are random goals I wish to achieve.  Some of them are just plain fun.  Mind you I hope some of them are these things, since I’ve not thought beyond the first two wishes.

So the goal of these wishes is to create a little check list for myself for my 34th birthday to see if did the things I wanted to do.  However, like I said before, I’m not thinking about things like “world peace” or to change anything beyond my own control.  I will not be wishing for large sums of money or something not truly quantifiable, like ‘happiness.’

Any questions?

To the Person who is reading me through Google Cache:

We are not fools and you are fooling no one. We know that the internet is a public place and have not exposed anything here that we would care if you knew. While we would love you to take the hint and stop stalking us online and in person. We don’t care if you know that we bowl or make potato chips. Our friends and family has the one thing you do not — a relationship. So, be a voyeurif you must, because stalking us isn’t all that exciting — thus you can’t possibly have anything better to do.
Moving on to things that matter.

Time to Help the Queen

Monday, August 28th, 2006

Kindly, give your opinion of the following three bowling bags. Currently the Queen is searching for exactly the RIGHT bag with which she should carry her ball, new shoes, and STUFF to bowling league night. Yes, she is ONLY considering vintage bags. Please share your thoughts and I will be happy to post the bag I decide on.

Green Tapestry , Plaid Fun, OR Burgundy and White

So, it would be time to share your opinions. I’m thinking of ordering it this evening.
